1. Booking and Deposits
- A deposit of [£X / X%] is required to secure your appointment.
- Deposits can be paid by [bank transfer / card / cash - delete as applicable].
- Your appointment is not confirmed until your deposit is received.
- Deposits are non-refundable if you cancel within [24/48] hours of your appointment (choose one).
- If you cancel with more than [24/48] hours notice, your deposit will be refunded in full or transferred to a new appointment date.
2. Cancellations
- Please give at least [24/48] hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
- Cancellations with less than [24/48] hours notice: your deposit will be forfeited.
- If you do not attend your appointment without notice (no-show): your deposit will be forfeited and you may be asked to pay a deposit for future bookings.
- I reserve the right to charge the full treatment price for no-shows on high-value bookings (e.g. bridal work, large colour services).
3. Late Arrivals
- If you arrive more than [15] minutes late, I may need to shorten your treatment to stay on schedule for other clients.
- If there is not enough time remaining to complete your treatment safely, I may need to reschedule. The cancellation policy above will apply.
4. Pricing
- All prices are displayed on my [website / booking page / price list] and are correct at the time of booking.
- If additional work is needed during your appointment (e.g. extra colour, longer treatment time), I will discuss the additional cost with you before proceeding.
- Payment is due at the end of your appointment unless otherwise agreed.
5. Patch Tests
- Some treatments require a patch test at least 48 hours before your appointment. This is a legal and insurance requirement, not optional.
- If you have not had a patch test when required, I cannot carry out the treatment. The cancellation policy will apply.
6. Health and Safety
- Please let me know about any allergies, medical conditions, medications, or pregnancy before your appointment.
- I reserve the right to refuse or modify a treatment if I believe it would not be safe for you.
- If I refuse a treatment for safety reasons, your deposit will be refunded in full.
7. Your Rights
- Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you are entitled to services carried out with reasonable care and skill.
- If you are unhappy with your treatment, please contact me within [7] days so I can try to resolve it.
- Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
8. Data Protection

How to Use This Template
This section is for you as the practitioner - do not include it in the version you give to clients.
- Customise the sections in [brackets] to match your business. Remove any options that do not apply to you (e.g. if you only take card payments, delete the other payment methods).
- Display these terms on your booking page and/or send them with booking confirmations. Clients should see them before they pay a deposit.
- Distance selling rules: Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, if clients book online or by phone (distance contracts), they have a 14-day cooling-off period UNLESS the service has been fully performed with their agreement. Once you start the treatment, the cooling-off period ends. Make sure your booking confirmation makes this clear.
- Keep your terms accessible. Do not hide them in small print. A link in your booking confirmation email or a printed copy at reception is fine.
- Review and update your terms at least once a year or when your prices, policies, or services change.
- This template is general guidance, not legal advice. If you have specific concerns about your terms, consider getting them checked by a solicitor.
