BeautyKiln is a free information platform for UK beauty workers — salon owners, self-employed beauty therapists, hair stylists, nail technicians, lash specialists, aestheticians, and anyone else earning from beauty services. This privacy notice explains how we handle your data.

Data protection fee paid: 18 April 2026. ICO registration is in progress — the full registration number will be displayed here upon ICO confirmation, typically within 24–48 hours of payment.

FTJ Designs will transfer controller status to Kiln Guides Ltd once Companies House registration completes. A new ICO registration will be issued at that point and this notice updated accordingly.

What data we collect and why

Newsletter subscribers. If you sign up to the BeautyKiln newsletter, we store your email address in our backend database (EU region) and use it only to send you beauty-business updates. We don't share, sell, or reuse your email for anything else.

Tool access. If you use a calculator, template, or reference card that requires an email to unlock, we store that email in the same database. You can use the same email for newsletter + tool access — we won't send you duplicate messages.

Anonymous analytics. We use Plausible Analytics (EU-hosted, cookieless) to count page views. No cookies, no IP retention, no individual visitor identification. Plausible is only loaded after you accept the cookie banner.

Cookie preferences. A single entry in your browser's local storage records whether you've accepted or declined non-essential analytics. Set only when you interact with the banner.

No tracking pixels. No retargeting. No advertising networks. No data resale.

How to unsubscribe or delete your data

• Unsubscribe from the newsletter: one-click unsubscribe on every email, or email create@ftjdesigns.co.uk.
• Delete all your data: email create@ftjdesigns.co.uk. We remove your record within 48 hours and confirm by reply.

Data processors

• Supabase (database hosting, EU region) — newsletter subscribers, tool access emails.
• Plausible Analytics (EU-hosted, cookieless) — anonymous page view counts.
• (Future: email service provider when newsletter sending starts. Name will be added here before the first newsletter is sent.)

No third-party advertising, retargeting, or data resale.

Your rights under UK GDPR

Access, correct, delete, restrict, object, portability, withdraw consent. Complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
