    Barbershop Hygiene Checklist

    Generate a daily opening, between-client and closing hygiene checklist — print, laminate, and reuse with a dry-wipe marker.

    Opening

    • Wash hands
    • Clean and disinfect all stations
    • Check Barbicide/disinfectant solution is fresh (replace every 24 hours)
    • Check sharps bin is not full
    • Lay out fresh towels and capes
    • Check first aid kit is stocked
    • Check disposable blade stock
    • Heat towel cabinet to correct temperature
    • Check handwash and sanitiser dispensers are full
    • Sweep and mop floor

    Between Clients

    • Remove all hair from chair and station
    • Clean clipper blades (remove hair)
    • Disinfect clipper blades (Barbicide/Clippercide spray)
    • Disinfect combs and guards (full immersion in Barbicide, minimum 10 minutes)
    • Dispose of used blade in sharps bin
    • Fit new disposable blade
    • Replace neck strip
    • Fresh towel and cape
    • Wipe down chair arms and headrest
    • Wash hands

    Closing

    • Full clean and disinfect all stations
    • Disinfect all clippers, trimmers and guards
    • Empty hair from floor and bins
    • Laundry: bag used towels and capes for washing
    • Restock supplies for tomorrow
    • Check sharps bin — arrange collection if nearly full
    • Replace Barbicide solution
    • Mop floor with disinfectant
    • Lock sharps bin and chemical storage
    • Turn off equipment, lights, heating
